Melusine

A medieval European serpent- or fish-tailed woman whose marriage depends on a forbidden secret.

Legend File

Melusine stories turn marriage into a pact with the hidden world. She can found noble lineages, build castles, and bring prosperity, but her husband must not violate the privacy of her transformed body. When the taboo is broken, the serpent or mermaid sign returns, and the household loses what it never fully understood.
