Gods & Deities ยท Norse world

Tyr

The Norse god of lawlike courage, remembered for losing his hand to bind Fenrir.

Legend File

Tyr's most famous act is not victory but sacrifice. When the gods bind Fenrir, only Tyr dares place his hand in the wolf's mouth as a pledge. The loss makes his courage juridical: order sometimes requires someone to stand inside the danger and pay the cost of trust.
