Izanami

The Japanese creator goddess whose death transforms her into a power of Yomi.

Legend File

Izanami creates islands and kami with Izanagi, but her death after giving birth to the fire deity changes the story into one of pollution, grief, and separation. In Yomi she becomes unreachable on ordinary terms, and Izanagi's failed attempt to retrieve her turns creation myth into a boundary myth about death itself.
