Enkidu

The wild companion of Gilgamesh whose humanity and death transform the king.

Legend File

Enkidu begins outside the city, living with animals and resisting royal order by his very existence. Once drawn into human society, he becomes Gilgamesh's equal and beloved companion. His death is the epic's turning point: the wild man teaches the king the human truth that strength cannot defeat mortality.
