Anubis

The jackal-headed guardian of tombs and guide of the dead.

Legend File

Anubis stands at the edge of the afterlife, watching over burial rites and the weighing of the heart. His image is severe but not chaotic: he is order in the presence of death. To ancient Egyptians, he helped the dead travel safely, protected tombs from violation, and made the invisible journey after life feel governed by ritual.
